"Whatever" by Oasis

I chose the song “Whatever” by Oasis, because it’s one of my favorite bands, I really enjoy listening to their music, and I wanted to share the lyric of this song particularly because it has a very powerful message, and it’s not like most songs we hear nowadays with nonsense, superficial lyrics. The message of this song is very inspiring and very explicit, very clear, it doesn’t have second interpretations. Each of one is free to do whatever they want to do, we can be whatever we want to be, we are free to feel, to think, to live in our way, without any tie, not caring about what people say or think about it, not mattering what other people want us to be. Not letting yourself get influenced by others, it’s good to be just who you are.

The lyric was written by Noel Gallagher, member of the band Oasis, about a personal experience with his father, who used to make Noel work on a building site with him as a teenager, because he wanted Noel to be a builder, but he really wanted to be a musician. As the lyric was based on a life experience, the message is being sent to all the people who feel the same, when you have to hide yourself to make others happy.

The video was recorded in 1994, it’s black and white, and you can see members of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Electric Light Orchestra playing the strings, which gives the song a especial touch.
"Whatever you do,
whatever you say,
yeah, I know it's alright"
