Bend it Like Beckham.

Yesterday we watched a movie called " Bend it like Beckham". Which was about a pakistan girl(Jess) whose passion was to played soccer, but because of her family religion and culture, she had a lots of problem with it. This film combined different conflicts as i mentioned the culture clash flick, generalations and young overcome love. However the most important thing that we can reflect on, is the East culture, which most of the time, is not really related to us and how Jess was faced with many trials due to social and cultural issues as she belong to a restrictive asian family who held strong cultural beliefs and how they never swindle their cultural values. So because of that, what really impacted me was that at the end this indian family allow her daughter to go to another country to play soccer. This seems really contrasting, because as i said before, for this indians family, is so hard to change the way they think. But as we can see, they were from India, but they lived in London, what is that mean? that as immigrated do, sometimes, thet adopted the lifestyle of the country they're living, why? because like most of the countries who has a los of immigrants, even thou that they have a really sense of freedom, in the way they can free go to their places where they have their God, or things like that, they started at some point get involved in how their enviroment thinks, how the lived, etc. So even thou at times, they look really strong in their beliefs, they beggin to change a little bit the way they act or let their childrens to play soccer or other sport, or just gen involved in fashion, like modeling, etc. So one side is because the influenced that in this case London has in them, and for the other, the empathy that as parents wants their children to be happy, even thee is not according to their belief. And i also believe not just for indians parent, but could be toher realigion, and a logical thought is that parents always want the best for their children.

  1. I agree with you too because I also Francisca much impressed to see that Jess's parents let her do what she wanted, for as they saw never seemed to let her do what she wanted. This shows that perlicula must never give up, despite the overhead obstacles. if you want something, fight for it.

  2. I agree with you girls, because is true that our parents wants the better for us, but they have to know that if we wanted something strongly we have to fight for it and we need his support. I like this movie very much because this film show us the way in which Jess made her dream come true and the way in where her parents help her to be what she wanted in her life, in her own life.
