A few weeks ago we saw ThunderHeart. The movie shows some of the things that aborigine people have to suffer by being under the power of the "white men" who have tried to make them lose their identity and customs and even their lands!.This make me think about our own aborigines the Mapuches and how they have being treated by our goverment. They have been fighting for years because the goverment have take away the land they had heritage from their ancestors.
Recently, the goverment have decided to treat the mapuches who resists the steal of their lands as terrorist!
Yes, it's an issue I think really sad and there is a clearly an injustice!
ReplyDeleteI, despite not having the Mapuche's blood, i support their cause which is really just , I think the government is obliged to give the land to the Mapuche because belongs to them since long before colonization, a part of the discrimination against them , and rob them of a beautiful little habits, Now they want it to steal that belonged to them from a principle! Their own land! , what RAGE! and I feel and I hope one day all the Chileans to unite in this cause ... and do not let it pass as if nothing had happened ..
Here is a video I found on this subject that makes the feeling of anger at how unfair it can become our country.

..
I think it is really unfair too, their land was stolen and they couldn’t do anything just for being a minority and also they are extremely discriminated by most of ignorant people that cannot think that Mapuches deserve the land more than anybody. At the end, Mapuches protected our country and now we, as a country, pay them with violence.
ReplyDeleteViolence is not the answer and we have to recognize that sometimes Mapuches do not know how to deal with authorities and in this aspect they are not right. But at the same time we have to accept that the government had caused that.
This is the reality of our country, and we can not do nothing to change it, because the people who stay in the power do this things to have more power, money and lands, they don't care about anything. It's a real shame for us we can't do nothing to change this.
