Tears In Heaven- Eric Clapton

'Tears In Heaven' was written by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings and it was released on January, 1992. It's mainly about the pain and loss Clapton felt when his four year-old son Connor fell down from a 53th story apartement in New York on March 20, 1991.
The main attraction of this song is the story behind it. The calm melody and the strong message of the pain that parents can feel with the death of a child, are represented on the voice of Clapton. The video itself  is very simple but strongly meaningful.
People who had this awful experience can relate to it and make this song part of their own past. Those parents who haven't suffered a child loss could imagine themselves on that situation and feel what the author feels or just listen to the lyrics understand them but do not relate to them at all.
This song talks about Heaven, so there's a christian religion view, expressing there's a place where our souls will rest in peace.
This song was written because Eric Clapton wanted to share his personal experience with the public, in a way to honnor his son Connor and to send him the message that he will be strong  and he will learn to live with that pain.

PS: when I try to insert the video, the different ways of uploads do not work, and I don't know why, when I clicked on them they do not react as the way Israel showed us on friday and to close the pop-out I have to reload the website. I've tried several times during the weekend and it doesn't work so I'm posting the link.

  1. I love this song, but prefer the unplugged version of the video. There are images of the movie Rush in this version, and in my opinion distract attention from the iconic image that is Eric Clapton singing. Given the sad topic of the song simple images tend to be more power full in these cases.

    Beautiful song! =)
